Are you tired of working from home and in need of a change of scenery? Do you need some really good coffee and pastries to push you into being productive?

It’s a good thing that Toronto offers a plethora of cozy coffee shops where you can settle in with your laptop, enjoy a delicious cup of coffee, and tackle your tasks with renewed focus. Whether you're a student cramming for exams or a remote worker seeking a productive environment, these 10 coffee shops are perfect for studying and working away from home.

Jimmy’s Coffee

When you think of Toronto coffee shops in Toronto, the first spot you’ll likely think of is Jimmy's Coffee. With 8 locations around Toronto, it is no shock that you’ll be likely to pass by a Jimmy’s Coffee when strolling around Toronto. Come here if you prefer high quality coffee and delicious pastries - we personally recommended their almond croissant!

Bevy Cafe

A study spot that we believe needs more love is Bevy @ The Combine. It is one of the largest cafes and is not short of drinks, pastries, and sandwiches. You can find many different kinds of seating in this cafe including couches, group seating, duo seating, solo seating, and private booths to hop on calls and meetings.

Neo Coffee Bar

With 4 locations in Toronto, there’s no doubt that Neo Coffee Bar is loved by many Torontonians. They offer abundant seating for solo working making it many workaholic’s first choice if they are working by themselves. They are most known for their fluffy and not-too-sweet rolls cakes so make sure you grab one when you visit!

Cafe Inside

Located in the uptown parts of Toronto (North York), Cafe Inside is a Korean cafe filled with abundant seating and good wi-fi. With many study locations located in the heart of downtown Toronto, Cafe Inside is a great option for those who live up north and want to avoid the commute. Because they are a Korean cafe, do expect some fun Korean-style drinks and desserts!

Rustle & Still Cafe

Did you know in the bustling streets of Toronto’s Koreatown lies a Vietnamese cafe called Rustle & Still Cafe? Great wifi and seating options for working but you’ll also find yourself eating a bunch here from their exciting and unique menu. At Rustle & Still, you can expect banh mi (Vietnamese baguette), and fun drinks such as Pandan Matcha Lattes.

Balzac’s Coffee Roasters

If you were to ask any university student what their go-to spot is for working and study, you’re likely going to hear Balzac’s Coffee Roasters being one of their top options. Up and running for 30 years, Balzac’s is where you can find the best quality coffee in Toronto. Good coffee, fast wi-fi, comfortable seating - is there really a reason to pass on this spot for studying and working?

Sonndr Cafe

If you’re in the Trinity Bellwoods area, Sonndr Cafe is your go-to spot for a casual work spot with great coffee and pastries. The nice thing about Sonndr Cafe is that they also have an outdoor seating area for those who want a breath of fresh air while working. A great alternative to working from home during the spring and summer.

Forget Me Not Coffee

Forget Me Not Coffee is your go-to spot if you’re looking for a cozy and quiet spot to work and study. At both of their locations (one on Adelaide and one on Ossington), the cafe is divided up into different rooms with spaced out seating ensuring you get the best no-distraction experience at this cafe.

The Oats Kafe

If you’re a huge fan of Vietnamese coffee, The Oats Kafe is what we recommend. They offer every version of Vietnamese coffee giving you a boost of energy to stay focused on your tasks. And if you’re feeling hungry, they also offer an extensive menu of sandwiches and snacks so you don’t have to leave the cafe for a proper meal. The layout of the cafe mostly accommodates solo and duo seating although the employees allow you to move tables together to accommodate for groups.

Lait Night

Are you a ‘night person’ and prefer to get all your studying and tasks done in the evening into the night? With many coffee shops and cafes closing in the early evening, there can be limited options for the night-taskers who also wish to work in a cafe opposed from home. That is why we recommend Lait Night, a cafe that opens from 3 pm to 3am (4 am on Saturdays). Lait Nait is also a great option for bubble tea lovers as well. They offer many flavours that it’ll be hard for you to choose from.
